נגדא

נִגְדָּא, נִי׳II (נְגַד; cmp. מִשְׁכָא) leather-strap, lash; trnsf. lashing, punishment. Yoma 23a פקיע נ׳ (Ms. M. מַדְרָא) pḳi‘a (Shek. V, 1) means lashing. Pes.52a ממנין אני׳וכ׳ (not ממינן; Rashi a. Ms. O. אנוּ׳; Ms. M. ממנו אנַגּוּדָא) a vote must be taken on the lashing of a scholar; ib. אנַגַּדְתָּא. Shebu.41a עד דמטי זמן נִגְדֵּיה until the time comes when he is to be lashed (for not heeding the excommunication).
